Bar Fights 12/11/2011 Featuring The Box Arena

This coming Sunday is going to be full of excitment for The Fighting Game Community! Creative, Complexity, and CrossCounter.tv are presenting Bar Fights featuring many groups and companies including that of The Box Arena. We will be bringing 3 fighters; Viscant and Dios X representing us for UMVC and Steinmania representing us for SSF4:AE.

The event is free so if you can make it out to the Hunter Street Studio, be there by 5PM.

If you are unable to attend the event in person, watch the streams! Yes, I did say streams. Team Sp00ky will be streaming the main event and The Box Arena will run the secondary stream featuring Street Fighter Cross Tekken!

I suggest being there in person; Bar Fights are always Hype.

LA Riots III Today!

The Box Arena will be there today! Come check it out!

The most exclusive tournament in the country is back and you can watch it live and in person this Sunday at Jake’s Burgers & Billards in Pasadena, CA.  As you may recall, Jake’s was the home of Bar Fights I and II and we are excited to have another SF4 event there.

The competition promises to be fierce and we have some new faces that are making their LA Riots debut.  Filling in for Alex Valle and Justin Wong who can’t make it due to prior obligations are OnlineTony213, SoCal’s best Seth player and Hugo101, SoCal’s best M. Bison player!  These guys, along with Shizza and Combofiend are representing the Inner City.  Check out the gorgeous poster here!

This tournament is up for grabs and you do not want to miss out!  We are only selling a limited number of tickets due to the small size of the venue.  If you went to Bar Fights I or II you know how packed it was and you also know how awesome it was to be in the main room where all the matches were played.  This time we are limiting it to ONE ROOM ONLY!  In the past we filled up all three rooms and I believe the experience was best for those in the main room so we are focusing all of our efforts on just one room.

We are also deciding not to stream the event due to bandwidth limitations at Jake’s (it is a bar, after all).  We will be recording the matches and releasing them after the event though, so don’t worry if you don’t live nearby or can’t get tickets, you’ll be able to watch it afterwards.  But the only way you’ll be able to see it live is in person!

The first round matches are:

• Shizza (Chun Li) vs. Keno (Balrog) – LA Riots I rematch: Keno – 1, Shizza – 1
• Kai (El Fuerte) vs. Combofiend (Abel/Cammy) – LA Riots I & II rematch: Combofiend – 1, Kai – 1
• Mike Ross (E. Honda) vs. Hugo101 (M. Bison) – Bar Fights @ Hooters rematch
• OnlineTony (Seth) vs. Ken I (Rufus/Akuma)

Prizes
1st Place gets $500 cash
2nd 3rd and 4th get Mad Catz Fight Sticks
5th-8th get to try again next time!

We apologize that it took awhile to push these out. A lot is going on behind the scenes of The Box Arena. We will try to release 1 or more videos everyday including the Top 8 Tekken videos ( yes, we haven't forgotten about you guys as well). First up is Winners Top 8 with Team No Blocking (Combofiend and Alex Valle) versus Team Rosemead (Evil Elvis and Gootecks). Be sure to tune-in tomorrow for more HD videos!

LA Riots II and House of Cicada 3 vs 3 this weekend

2 Major Events in SoCal are happening this weekend that The Box Arena team is participating in:

LA Riots II - Starts at 2pm PST

Both ShadyK and Yeb qualified for LA Riots II by taking 3rd and 4th earlier at Barfights at Hooters. Unfortunately, Only Yeb will be representing The Box Arena and San Diego. ShadyK will be replaced by Jayce the Ace, another up and coming SoCal player. I personally reccomend watching this stream since it's non-stop top players and a really well produced stream.

House of Cicada's 3 vs 3 - Starts at 9pm PST

ShadyK will be teaming up again with ComboJack, they took 2nd place at San Diego's Duæl Tournament, and ClakeyD for House of Cicada's 3v3 Tournament. This is another high profile tournament with the best of the best of SoCal pitting against each other. Be sure to expect a top notch stream as well for this one! Yeb will also be there but will be a free agent for the event. :)

This is going to be a great saturday if you love watching epic SFIV matches!
